While home from college one summer, Manford (Manny) Jerome found work with the Thousand Island Bridge Authority Fire Department. The experience stayed with him. After graduating and working as a college career counselor in the Midwest, Manny came home to Central New York in 1967 and began selling and recharging fire extinguishers out of his home in Clay. He soon added loose equipment to his lines and after five years of steady growth he opened the doors to new offices on Caughdenoy Road.

Today under the leadership of his son Russ Jerome, we supply customers in a 16-county area with a full line of firefighting equipment from the companies you have come to know and trust. Our apparatus service department includes the only on site pump test facility in Central New York, as well as a seven-bay service center with large scale operations. For over 30 years we have had the opportunity to provide product from the industry leaders such as MSA, Globe, Cairns and TFT, to name a few.

Many years, several building and personnel additions later, Jerome Fire Equipment has grown and added extensive lines of equipment, along with an expansive service capability to its offerings.

Our goal, as it was since the beginning in 1967, is quite simply to sustainabley grow the offerings of our business in both sales and service to meet and exceed our customer's needs or requirements for fire safety and suppression.
