2009 CUSTOMER APPRECIATION Equipment & Apparatus Show a Great
Success |

With
approximately 200 Firefighters and family members in attendance, the
2009 Jerome Fire Equipment 6th Annual Customer Appreciation
Equipment and Apparatus Show was another great success. Our sincere
thanks to all attendees who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves
while socializing and viewing the latest product developments from a
variety of on site fire equipment manufacturers. In addition to the
numerous vendor door prizes awarded at the Show, special thanks to
Globe Footwear for the donation of a pair of Globe Magnum leather
boots and congratulations to the winner, Ron O’Brien of the
Weedsport Fire Department. All proceeds from the boot raffle (along
with a supplemental donation from Jerome Fire) resulted in a total
donation of $200.00 to the Clark Burn Center – our thanks to all who
participated. We look forward to next year’s September event and we
hope to see you there!

Fire Depts Begin
to Comply with New NYS Rope Law |

A number of NY Fire Dept.’s, including
Lowville FD, Castorland FD, Copenhagen FD, Lyncourt FD,
Cody FD and others,
have purchased SCBA mounted RIT Rescue emergency egress systems in
the interest of complying with the safety requirements established
in the new NYS Rope Law. Upon a thorough evaluation of various
emergency egress systems, the FD’s chose RIT Rescue for its ease of
use and ability to connect directly to the SCBA (efficiently
eliminating the need to outfit every individual interior
firefighter).

Floyd Fire
Department Chooses MSA Evolution 5200HD |

After a
thorough evaluation of three leading TIC manufacturers, the Floyd
Fire Dept. concluded that the MSA Evolution 5200HD was the best
thermal imaging camera. With numerous satisfied MSA TIC users in the
Central and Northern NY area, we are confident that Floyd will also
be very pleased with the performance of their new 5200HD TIC. Our
thanks to the Floyd Fire Dept. for the opportunity to
support their TIC ownership.

City of Utica Fire
Department Switches to Globe |

The City of Utica Fire Dept. recently switched from a competitive
turnout gear manufacturer and purchased 25 sets of Globe gear, as
well as 12 pair of Globe Leather boots. With the most durable and
comfortable PPE in the market, Globe will certainly serve the City
of Utica FD well. Our thanks to the City of Utica FD for their

Group purchase of
MSA TIC’s |

Following a thorough evaluation of
various TIC’s, the Afton FD, Bainbridge FD, and South New Berlin FD
all decided upon a group purchase of the MSA 5200HD2
Thermal Imaging Cameras. We thank these customers for the
opportunity to support their TIC ownership.

Under the guidance of Chief Brian
Kiteveles, the Warners Fire Dept. recently took delivery of 25 new
MSA M7 Firehawk SCBA’s and spare cylinders. A prior competitive SCBA
user, the Warners Fire Dept. made the switch based on a thorough
evaluation of product and support offerings from both MSA and Jerome
Fire.

McLean FD receives
DEC Grant |

July 2009
With a recent DEC Grant awarded to
the McLean Fire Dept., Chief Mike Totman was able to acquire some
much needed wildland fire protection equipment. The grant provided
for a TFT Pro Pak with associated accessories, twelve lengths of Key
forestry hose, and an assortment of Kochek adapters. Congratulations

Harrisville Rescue
Squad chooses Amkus |

The Harrisville Rescue Squad
considered a variety of options for Hydraulic Rescue Tools and
determined that the Amkus System was the best choice for their
needs. Harrisville has replaced their 25 year old competitive system
with an assortment of Amkus Tools and Accessories, including
Extendable Reach Tips and Chain Package. Our thanks to Chiefs Chris
Weeks, Robert Bellinger, Mike Melbouf and the Harrisville Rescue
Squad for the opportunity to support their Rescue Tool ownership. |

City of Watertown
FD confident in Globe and MSA |

Under the guidance of Chief Milt
Sayre, the City of Watertown Fire Dept. took delivery of 72 sets of
custom Globe GXcel turnout gear with integrated rescue harness
pants. The Fire Dept. also added 10 MSA M7 Firehawk SCBA’s to their
existing fleet to increase their total to 45 MSA SCBA’s in use. We
thank the City of Watertown Fire Dept. for their continuing
confidence in Globe, MSA, and Jerome Fire. |

Lyons Falls FD
buys Amkus |

Following a thorough competitive
comparison, the Lyons Falls Fire Dept. replaced their aging
competitive tools with a new assortment of Amkus Hydraulic Rescue
Equipment which included the new AMK 22 cutter with over 200,000
lbs. of cutting force. Our thanks to Chief Jim Skorupa and the Lyons
Falls Fire Dept. for their confidence and trust in Amkus and Jerome

Minoa Fire Dept.
refurbishes 1953 Mack Engine |

Jerome Fire Equipment is
honored to have provided a complete refurbishment of Minoa Fire
Dept.’s 1953 Mack Engine. The refurbishment included rewiring the
electrical system, complete repaint with gold leaf lettering and
striping, and variety of other accomplishments to get the antique
engine proudly back into “parade shape”.
